Green Washing
We use completely natural cleaning products on our surfaces in order to minimize
the effects of harsh chemicals on our guests’ health as well as minimize damage
to the environment. Our laundry detergent and fabric softener, La Parisienne, is
also certificated by Environment Canada as being an Environmentally Preferable Product
for Sustainability.
Our homemade cleaning products consist largely of Dr. Bronner’s Soap (we like to
use Peppermint), tea tree oil, baking soda, white vinegar and water.
We make different mixtures for alternate uses, and you can make them at home too
by downloading our recipes here. For more information on our products:

For those who may not be familiar with some of the products mentioned above, here
is a little primer:
Dr. Bronner’s soaps: Formulated from organic extra virgin coconut, olive,
jojoba, hemp and pure essential oils, and also fair trade certified! It can be used
for just about anything - the soap is so gentle it can be used as a bodywash, and
is even suggested for use as a toothpaste!
Tea tree oil: Created from the leaves of a plant native to the northeast
coast of New South Wales in Australia. It has antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal
and antiviral properties.
Baking soda: Works great as a scouring powder, deodorizer, antiseptic and
water softener. We use it in our heavy-duty cleaner, which is mostly used for sinks
and toilets, or removing stains from coffee and tea cups.
White vinegar: A great antibacterial on hard surfaces and dissolver of mineral
deposits. It is always mixed with water so as to not damage surfaces being cleaned
with its high acidity.
